Key Persons

Key persons

Having a key person helps your child settle into nursery life and ensures they are receiving the best care possible. For more information on any aspect of Kids Capers Day Nursery in Crawley please get in touch with us today.

Helping your child feel at home

When your child joins the nursery they will be assigned a key person. A key person has special responsibilities for a small number of children and for building relationships with their parents.

A key person will help your baby or child to become familiar with the setting and to feel safe and confident within it. They will also talk to parents to make sure the needs of the child are being met appropriately, and that records of development and progress are shared with parents and other professionals as necessary.

We ensure your child is looked after

The key person will discuss with parents any issues or learning difficulties that a child may appear to have in order to ensure the correct support is given to the child. The key person will also get to know your child and observe and plan your child's activities based on their likes and dislikes.

We operate a key person buddy system which means there is another person who knows your child equally well and is able to ensure continuity of care.
