Supporting Learning and Development – A Personalised Approach
Our curriculum challenges each individual child and fosters positive interactions and outcomes. We combine child-led and free-flow play across all age groups, allowing children to explore their interests at their own pace. Our practitioners observe and enhance these experiences by introducing new learning opportunities.

Open Ended Play
Using the Curiosity Approach, our skilled practitioners provide a range of stimulating activities taking inspiration from established pedagogies such Montessori and Hygge in the Early Years.
Maria Montessori said, "play is the work of the child", and it is our intention that children are offered a wide range of open-ended activities which awaken their curiosity, spark their creativity and help them to learn about their sense of self, their skills and their interests.
We believe that children are best placed to lead their learning, and our grown-ups are always on hand to support them.

Woodwork And Life Skills
Through our woodwork activities, children learn about safety, boundaries, and techniques using authentic tools while building their confidence and creativity.
Each activity supports hand-eye coordination and imaginative thinking whilst developing essential life skills in a supervised environment.
Forest School Adventures
Our Forest School activities allow children to explore nature all year round, no matter the weather. These sessions encourage children to interact with their environment, helping them gain confidence and understanding of the world. Children learn to take acceptable risks while respecting their surroundings through hands-on activities such as shelter building, fire pit cooking, and woodwork.
During Forest School sessions, children will learn about the wildlife which we share the woods with. They will learn about native species of trees and plants and be supported to harvest natural resources and craft responsibly. Our trained practitioners guide each session, creating opportunities for learning through play and fostering a love for the outdoors.

Outings and Community Exploration
Surrounded by beautiful natural spaces, we take regular outings to explore nearby woodlands and fields. Children love heading out to gather natural resources for projects and artwork. These trips allow children to gather materials, observe wildlife, and understand their environment. This also provides them with an opportunity to observe nature; an important aspect of us being able to understand the world we live in. From moving brambles safely, identifying flowers and trees, even going on a bear hunt; led by the children with adult support, naturally.
Knowing and understanding where you live and being surrounded by your community is important; it helps create a sense of belonging and identity and helps build cultural capital.
Development Matters
There are two government documents which guide us in Early Years, The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Development Matters. Through a process of careful planning, observation and assessment, we seek to nurture the development of our babies and children in a way that stimulates their enthusiasm for discovery and creativity.
The EYFS Framework has seven pillars which we use to inform our planning, experiences and assessments.
These are:
-
Personal, social and emotional development
-
Literacy
-
Mathematics
-
Understanding the world
-
Expressive arts and design
